Fall 2015-This week IASUS Concepts launched a 2.1 version of their outstanding XSound 2 helmet speaker. Due to responses from loyal XSound 2 users who would like us to continue producing an affordable helmet speaker for their daily commute or spirited rides, IASUS has responded with the XSound 2.1. Although it shares the same basic audio design construction of its predecessor, the XSound 2.1 has been reengineered to maintain performance while reducing the cost so that we can maintain the price point where anyone can afford.

Some new features for the XSound 2.1 are a new improved steel chassis with reinforced cable connector for more durability and also environmentally friendly cables and extension. Sound quality is still excellent and our new helmet speaker has been rated to work with most 3rd party Bluetooth intercom systems that use a standard 3.5mm output jack. The XSound 2.1 is the smart affordable upgrade to improve your helmet audio experience.

Designed specifically for Motorcycle riding, Snowmobile, Snowboarding, Skiing, and other helmet-based activities. The XSound 2.1 is still provides a fantastic audio experience while maintaining its original price.

Available in matte black, the XSound 2.1 comes with standard foam covers but can use the same optional covers as the XSound 3 system. IASUS would like to thank everyone that participated in our STEALTH beta and pilot programs. The feedback we have received was positive and applications were very diverse. We have been delaying the production of the STEALTH because there were some minor technical issues uncovered during the pilot program that we are examining. Though the product does work and we could just release the current version, we are considering a new version 2.0 as there have been new developments in technology since our initial design that may enhance the Stealth’s overall performance. We have not dismissed this project and will have an update shortly.

TESTING COMPLETED: STEALTH BETA AND PILOT TESTER

Without disclosing too many details at this time, we can confirm that the STEALTH bluetooth headset system will be firmware upgradable for different specific applications, a first for throat mic headset communications. In addition, many of our STEALTH testers have requested an in-ear noise isolation solution as our current 3.5mm module does not support larger diameter plugs. This design is recessed specifically to accommodate our special 3.5mm plug with an O ring to meet waterproof requirement standards. We are excited to announce that IASUS will be introducing an optional waterproof noise isolation earphone very shortly. Traditionally, this class of earphones have very poor low-end audio and bass due to the lack of an air channel to maintain waterproof standards, but we are pleased with the full range and audio performance that you would expect from IASUS.

The final testing for the STEALTH has finally now been completed, and after some consideration, we have decided to use Kickstarter as the official launch platform for the STEALTH in order to reach a larger demographic of users that may appreciate such a revolutionary communication system.

INTRODUCING THE IASUS M2 MODULAR ADAPTER SERIES

The new IASUS M2 is reverse compatible with the NT3/GP3 series headsets and accessories. There is no longer the VOX feature like the previous version, but the M2 still retains the option for connecting to different IASUS PTT configurations. The M2 is constructed of aluminum and substantially lighter than the original adapter. Lastly, the signature IASUS heavy duty braided cables will connect the M2 to either NT3/GP3 series.

IASUS Launches the STEALTH Pilot Program

The STEALTH development program is the first product IASUS has developed in conjunction with direct feedback from IASUS users. It was intended as a new experimental open method of designing products that has never been seen from consumer electronics companies as it is very difficult to incorporate all the feedback and be able to change design path that had been already been put in motion. The IASUS STEALTH, a bluetooth stereo communication headset that utilizes IASUS throat mic technology is hand built by our in house engineering personnel as it has a fairly complex design that is difficult to execute under low volume mass production parameters. This tedious method of production however, does allow us flexibility to incorporate significant design changes, and we have taken full advantage of this with the STEALTH PILOT program. The IASUS stealth is powered by Bluetooth 4.0 technology for advanced bluetooth fidelity audio playback along with sophisticated headset functions like dual device pairing and voice commands.

This STEALTH PILOT PROGRAM is our limited pre-production test units which we are offering to select customers for development or evaluation purposes. The PILOT units have undergone extensive modifications from our beta units based on our own testing in conjunction with beta tester feedback. As a result, we have redone the software and programming to incorporate voice command through “SIRI” and “Google Now”. In order to do this and to maintain our minimal 3 button design we had to reconfigure the OS and start from scratch. In addition, we have also made changes to the durability of the headset to make it even more robust than the beta units.

So why are we offering this program? Since we virtually, redesigned the entire OS for this headset, we wanted to ensure there are no software or compatibility issues prior to production and our applications for bluetooth license and FCC / CE approvals which will take time and resources to obtain.

IASUS will be launching an all new XSound 3 helmet speaker in Q2 2014.

As an industry leader in helmet acoustic technology with our legendary XSound 2 performance helmet audio speakers, the new XSound 3 was a challenge for the IASUS Development Team.  We wanted to improve audio performance from a thinner lightweight package and as a result, we have opted to utilize CNC machined aluminum housing to create a 1cm (0.39″) thin speaker delivering a full range of audio that has never been experienced in a helmet before.
